The Amazon Brand Strategist is pivotal in developing and implementing comprehensive brand growth strategies for our clients. This is what the brands are paying for: strategy. The Brand Strategist will quarterback the execution of the strategy and must have the skill set to implement it when necessary.

You will have various teams to execute across Sponsored Ads, ADSP, CRO, SEO, and Catalog Management. This is also a client-facing role during regular business hours in the USA, requiring excellent communication and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive brand growth strategies on Amazon, including but not limited to catalog optimization, advertising, and other sales channels.
  2. Client Communication: Serve as a strategic point of contact for clients, providing regular updates, insights, and recommendations. Present strategies and reports to clients. Currently required to meet once in a quarter to discuss the strategy and when ever an escalation is raised by client on performance.
  3. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including advertising, catalog, creative, and SEO, to ensure alignment and execution of strategies.
  4. Advertising Strategy: Develop advertising strategies based on client goals and profitability metrics. Deploy strategy based on our internal GMAP process and guide the team in moving the right levers to grow the client’s account. 
  5. Catalog Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to improve catalog product selection and improve product discoverability.
  6. Product Research & Development: Identify product opportunities through market basket analysis, CRO, and SEO assessment.
  7. Competitive Analysis: Assess and measure the impact from competitors, staying abreast of market trends and changes in the Amazon landscape.
  8. Pricing Analysis: Determine optimal product pricing. We have the tools for such analysis and implementation.
  9. Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and make data-driven recommendations.
  10. New Initiative Development: Identify and develop new strategies to increase sales on and off Amazon, such as tearing down siloes from external ads, social media marketing, affiliate, and influencer campaigns, to name a few.
  11. Process Improvement: Identify and implement new and improved processes to enhance productivity and profitability. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures. We have 2 dedicated ops members that will meet with you weekly for iterative improvement here.
  12. 90-Day Planning: Build 90-day strategic plans for clients based on audit findings and strategic priorities.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in brand strategy for Amazon Sellers
  2. 4+ years of experience working with an Amazon Agency
  3. Deep understanding of Amazon Seller Central, Sponsored Ads + DSP, FBA processes, and account maintenance
  4. Minimum 1 year of experience using Ads Labs for optimization and management is a must. 
  5. Experience with managing brand reputation on Amazon. We offer critical (negative) review removals.
  6. Excellent communication, presentation, and client management skills
  7. Experience developing and implementing SOPs
  8. A proactive and strategic mindset, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
  9. Experience with other marketplaces like Walmart and Target is a plus

Job Description:

The Ads  Specialist’s role is crucial in ensuring our client’s advertising efforts are executed precisely and efficiently. You will be the driving force behind the tactical day-to-day management of paid campaigns across Amazon PPC, Walmart, and Target, directly influencing account growth and profitability.

Reporting to the Brand Strategist, you will ensure seamless deployment of optimizations, proactively monitor performance trends and act as the first line of defense against account risks. Your sharp attention to detail and responsiveness will help maximize advertising efficiency, reduce waste, and support the broader strategic goals of our brands.

This internal and weekly client-facing role occurs during regular U.S. business hours and requires excellent operational focus and strong communication skills. 

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Execution & Optimization

  • Launch, manage, and optimize Sponsored Products (SP), Sponsored Brands (SB), Sponsored Display (SD), and DSP campaigns.
  • Execute the optimizations of bids, budgets, placement modifiers, campaign bidding settings, and campaign objectives to stay within each brand’s growth and profitability targets to ensure profitability at scale.
  • Implement pre-defined Campaign Launches while maintaining the strategically designed infrastructure, including campaign naming conventions, bidding types, and placement settings.
  • Execute strategic Negation and Harvesting as per set SOPs and any unique parameters altered by the Brand Strategist.
  • Implement keyword research, market share analysis, and harvesting feedback loops with the Brand Strategist.
  • Set up and manage A/B tests and trends analysis, ensuring proper monitoring and reporting of results.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues in real-time, escalating significant concerns to the Brand Strategist. While also escalating to Quality Control if performance is not improving or is increasingly deteriorating.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate tracking of KPIs across all assigned accounts to prevent overspending or underperformance.
  • Provide timely performance summaries and updates to the Brand Strategist.
  • Flag any anomalies or risks in real-time (e.g., TACoS spike, budget depletion, sudden sales drop, etc).
  • Contribute to Mid-Month (MM) and End-of-Month (EoM) reporting by providing timely data pulls and initial insights.
  • Support in preparing ad-hoc reports as requested by the Brand Strategist. While also surfacing these requests to the Data Science team if the reports routinely require more than 15-30 minutes or you feel automation is a viable option.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work in sync with the assigned Brand Strategist to align on account goals and priority actions. This is commonly required when your teammate(s) are out of the office, or there is an influx of new directives across multiple brands.
  • Participate actively in weekly external & internal syncs. 
  • Collaborate with your fellow team members and other Ads Specialists as well to ensure cohesive execution across all brands.
  • Maintain clear and on-time internal & external communication, especially around urgent updates or risks.

SOP Adherence & Process Improvement

  • Follow all internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to any of your day-to-day tasks. Immediately surface any gaps to the Quality Control team.
  • Share feedback on process improvements and identify inefficiencies to contribute to team-wide learning.
  • Stay updated with Amazon Ads algorithm changes, new features, and beta opportunities.
  • Proactively suggest improvements to campaigns and share learnings with the broader team.
  • Prepare for growth into advanced responsibilities, such as account strategy contributions and leadership in specialized areas (e.g., DSP expansion).

Qualifications:

What is Required?

  • MUST HAVE agency experience of ideally 1+ years. There is a strong need to be capable of navigating many catalog types and prioritizing an agency’s proper evolving aspects.
  • While we all learn at different paces and have different definitions of experience, we desire 1+ years of Amazon Seller Central Experience or Amazon Vendor Central knowledge/experience.
  • Thus, you must know Seller/Vendor Central well enough to know more than your brands under management (aka: being a Consultant). This includes familiarity with flat files, inventory management, FBA process, reinstatements, case filing, brand registry, Amazon SEO terminology (we’ll teach you our proven methodology and best practices), keyword research, etc.
  • We do not require an expert-level understanding and execution of each of the above items and you must be able to simply speak to them intelligently. The beautiful part is that we have a team of experts who can execute on your behalf. You talk the talk, they walk the walk.
  • Management experience. Must have experience with direct reports and team management. You should feel comfortable leading a team and helping others overcome and resolve issues. You should have experience in hiring and performance management, and be able to anticipate the needs of the agency.

Salaries for lead specialists are tied to a % of earnings the sustained brand revenue. You’re expected to manage an average of 8-12 accounts, each generating a minimum revenue of $1,500. Our client charges are based on their monthly media spend.

The onboarding phase spans around 3-6 weeks, focusing on training in account audits, monitoring, report analysis, and keyword research. New recruits collaborate with experienced specialists and strategists, partake in client onboarding sessions, and attend ongoing client meetings. Post-training, new specialists co-manage a client with an experienced peer, ensuring a blend of direct experience and expert support. In this story, our brands are avid readers, eager to see their business thrive on Amazon’s platform. They look to you, the account manager, as the author and publisher of their success story. We have a dedicated team of supporting members, our ‘writers,’ who work diligently behind the scenes to ensure that every detail is perfect. However, we understand that success requires more than just creating a story; it demands effective communication and collaboration. Our commitment to attention to detail and proactive communication sets us apart. We won’t leave our brands in the dark, hoping they’ll understand the data or remember our discussed strategies. We recognize that agencies are only as good as the attention, focus, and thought they invest in each account.   • We must maintain that we are not too big to deliver the attention and dedication each brand needs. You will always work closely with the brands, reminding them of our strategies, keeping them informed about what’s happening, and vividly portraying what’s to come.   • Manage partner brand accounts assigned to you as the PoC (point of contact). The Brand Manager will act as the primary point of contact for the brand, responsible for coordinating Adverio’s services, implementing strategy, communicating with brands, direct reports, and leadership.
  • 2+ Direct Reports. In addition to brand services, this position also has a managerial arm, and following the completion of training, brand managers will be expected to lead a small team of Amazon specialists, who will assist the manager with delivering Adverio services to the brand.

What is Required?

  • MUST HAVE agency experience of ideally 1+ years. There is a strong need to be capable of navigating many catalog types and prioritizing an agency’s proper evolving aspects.
  • While we all learn at different paces and have different definitions of experience, we desire 1+ years of Amazon Seller Central Experience or Amazon Vendor Central knowledge/experience.
  • Thus, you must know Seller/Vendor Central well enough to know more than your brands under management (aka: being a Consultant). This includes familiarity with flat files, inventory management, FBA process, reinstatements, case filing, brand registry, Amazon SEO terminology (we’ll teach you our proven methodology and best practices), keyword research, etc.
  • We do not require an expert-level understanding and execution of each of the above items and you must be able to simply speak to them intelligently. The beautiful part is that we have a team of experts who can execute on your behalf. You talk the talk, they walk the walk.
  • Management experience. Must have experience with direct reports and team management. You should feel comfortable leading a team and helping others overcome and resolve issues. You should have experience in hiring and performance management, and be able to anticipate the needs of the agency.
  • Feel comfortable and excel in a fast-changing environment. You should be able to multitask at an expert level and help ensure that tasks get completed.
  • Be well versed with workplace tools such as Zoom, Slack, and Wrike/Clickup (or comparable tools).
  • Excel at and love project management.
  • Be comfortable taking responsibility for brand accounts, conducting brand calls, and communicating with brands on a frequent basis to grow their sales on Amazon.
